Most organisations now acknowledge that looking after the wellbeing of their staff is crucial for organisational success. Mindtastic’s Wellbeing Clinics offer powerful natural treatments which are known to improve people’s wellbeing and performance. In addition to productivity benefits, these clinics are a cost-effective strategy for improving morale and job satisfaction and reducing absenteeism due to sickness, in particular stress-related conditions.

We provide all the resources you need to provide these clinics for your staff – all you have to supply is a private room for us to work from. Here are the highlights of providing a Wellness Clinic for your team:

  • The Wellness Clinic takes place at your premises. We usually use the organisation’s first aid room, although any private space is suitable
  • Clinics are usually for half a day, although this can be modified according to your needs (shorter or longer)
  • You decide how often we run the clinic – it can be monthly, every two weeks, weekly or even more frequently
  • Each individual appointment is for 30-minutes. Therefore for a typical half-day session of 4-hours we provide 8 individual sessions
  • Our online booking system handles all of the appointments so all people need to do is simply turn up to the designated room at the allotted time
  • We supply all the necessary equipment, paperwork, and internal promotion tools. All you need to do is supply the room
  • Health and Safety is paramount – we strictly adhere to the HSE’s standards for health and safety at work
  • Dawn and her network of therapists are properly qualified and hold professional indemnity insurance

Ear acupuncture is a holistic treatment based on the principles of Chinese Medicine. It has been found to be beneficial for a range of health conditions. The treatment involves the placement of sterile, high-quality, fine micro-needles on specific acu-points on the ear. There are 200 acupuncture points on each ear, with each point relating to a specific part of the body such as the liver, kidneys, and lungs. About 5-6 needles are gently placed on each ear at acupuncture points relevant for your unique situation.

The treatment consists of a brief consultation about the health conditions the client would like to address after which the needles are gently inserted. The needles are super-fine, measuring about the same as the width of a human hair. They are placed very superficially on the ear (1-3mm), so usually people experience ear acupuncture as a pleasant, highly relaxing treatment.

The needles are left in for at least 15 minutes. During this time the therapist can teach you some useful stress management techniques or you simply relax and enjoy a few minutes of simply doing nothing. At the end of the treatment the needles are removed and disposed of them hygienically

The stimulated ear acupuncture points create impulses within the brain which then flow through the nervous system to the particular parts of the body that need to be treated. Research has found that ear acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins, the body’s feel-good chemicals.

Benefits of Ear Acupuncture Treatments

Ear acupuncture has been found to be beneficial for a range of health-related conditions. Some of the most common conditions people say they have experienced benefit from ear acupuncture include:

  • Release stress, anxiety, and tension – Clients report that ear acupuncture is an extremely effective treatment for stress, anxiety and tension. The majority of my clients report immediate benefits by the end of the session and these usually last for at least a couple of days
  • Improve focus and concentration – the physiological changes that occur during a session produce an improvement in cognitive abilities. People are able to resume their work with renewed attentiveness as well as motivation
  • Overcome Insomnia – Clients have reported excellent improvements in their sleep after ear acupuncture. Improvements usually accumulate after a few sessions and in many cases have been resolved completely
  • Enhance mood, lift depression – by releasing endorphins ear acupuncture can be a helpful treatment for low mood and mild depression and it complements any medical treatment someone may be receiving for this condition
  • Headaches, migraines, fibromyalgia – there are specific acupuncture points that can provide support for physical pain, in particular headaches and migraines
  • Digestive disorders – clients experience a lessening of digestive problems such as constipation, diarrhoea, and indigestion as well as improvements in IBS symptoms
  • Fatigue, lack of energy – the relaxing nature of a ear acupuncture makes it a useful treatment for people suffering with lack of energy
  • Weight management and smoking cessation – if you know someone who has been struggling with losing weight or quitting smoking then ear acupuncture may help. A 2006 study by Plymouth University concluded that ear acupuncture appears to be effective for smoking cessation
